Future-ready design is achieved by identifying product needs from the more technology-ready segments of the market, Explorers and Pioneers. They will tend to desire cutting-edge functionality, which is more likely to be in widespread use in the near future. Skeptics and Paranoids will tend to desire functionality that is currently in widespread use; relying too much on the advice of these less techno-ready segments could result in technology that becomes obsolete too quickly, while following the advice of the more techno-ready segments will more likely ensure that technology meets the needs of the general market in the near future.
